Statistics comparing two 3-year periods shows that the hardest hit by speed cameras is the over-60's (especially women)

Between the periods 97/99 and 03/05:

Men over 60 receiving penalty points - 540% increase
Women over 60 receiving penalty points - 1,200% rise

The number of drivers under 25 in the same period receiving penalty points grew by just 18%
Under 25's are the age group most likely to be involved in traffic accidents
